Visitors can view dozens of breeds via horseback and carriage rides, special shows, and in museum exhibits and programs. There's a working horse farm, a memorial to the great racehorse Man o' War, and even a campground with leisure activities. Throughout the year, scheduled events add to the slate of activities and display equines in all their glory. Great for folks of all ages.

Description:
Although nominally a cemetery, this beautiful plot of land is heavy with blooming shrubs, stately trees, and lush plantings. Instituted in the mid-19th century, the area also contains the gravesites of some of Lexington's ­ and Kentucky's ­ more famous residents. A beautiful, Romanesque gatehouse, several lakes, and an impressive monument to Henry Clay can also be viewed, along with graves of military veterans. Although the grounds are park-like, only sightseeing is allowed, not leisure activities, picnics, or the like.

Instituted in 1865, this state university began as an agricultural and mechanical college. Its influence is much larger today, given that UK is the state's largest public school and its student body numbers over 24,000. Widely recognized for its superb basketball team (the Wildcats), the university also offers strong programs in communications, medicine, rural health, and pharmacy. Most of UK's libraries can be found on central campus, and athletic and medical facilities occupy south campus.
